Atlas Brew Works today announced the opening of a new Tap Room in its Ivy City brewery and extended hours of operation. The new environment connects to the 100 percent solar powered brewery’s new outdoor patio space on West Virginia Ave NE, which opened earlier this spring. The new facility represents the first major expansion of the three-year-old operation, which has grown to produce 4,000 barrels of environmentally responsible beer per year.

This year it is Austin’s turn. Our Brewer Austin Liebrum will be shaving on Sunday, March 13, in the name of finding a cure for childhood cancers. As part of Boundary Stone’s annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser, Liebrum is helping raise $ by getting people to donate in return for him donating the hair on his head.

After a great showing at last year’s Rowdy-ish Homebrew Competition, Atlas Brew Works invites local home brewers back to show off their skills, this time featuring lagers. In the spirit of our flagship District Common, The 1500 – a South Cap Lager – and our seasonal India Pale Lager – Home Rule, we are opening a best-in-show type competition that stars the wonderful Saccharomyces pastorianus.
